David Anderson is the Director for the World Data Center for Paleoclimatology, Chief of the Paleoclimatology Branch of NOAA's National Climatic Data Center, and an Associate Professor Adjoint at the University of Colorado, USA.
His research interests in paleoclimatology lie in the marine geologic record of the Asian monsoons and other aspects of tropical air-sea interaction, and in the ocean's role in regulating atmospheric carbon dioxide in the past and future.
He has served on national and international advisory committees for paleoclimate research, ocean research, and data management issues, and has contributed to national reports on abrupt climate change and climate extremes. David received a PhD in Geological Sciences from Brown University.
