Application and abstract submission
Early-career scientists wishing to attend the YSM are required to present their work either as a poster or a talk. Attendance is competitive and will be based primarily on the quality of the abstract submitted. The organizers strive, however, to achieve a gender and geographical balance to ensure a lively and representative meeting.
To apply for the YSM, you have to submit an abstract AND fill in the application form. Before you submit an abstract, please check that you meet the eligibility criteria (above) and decide which session your abstract best fits under.
Application, abstract submission and financial support request deadlines for YSM: 1 October 2016.
Successful applicants will be notified early December 2016.
The successful applicants are required to submit an abstract to the OSM as well. You can submit the same abstract or a new one, but it must be submitted to an OSM session separately through your conference account.
Accommodation at the YSM venue is provided for all participants for the duration of the YSM (i.e for the nights of 7 and 8 May 2017).
All YSM participants should register for the OSM as well.
Presenters are requested to create their poster in portrait position with the following size: 84.1 x 118.9 cm/33.1 x 46.8 inches.
Deadline for Scientific Program Committee to choose YSM attendees and grant recipients: 15 November 2016. Notifications will follow shortly after.
Funding is available for registration fees, accommodation and travel support. If you wish to apply for funding, please complete the "funding request" section in the YSM application form.
While significant funding has been earmarked for early-career researchers, it will not be sufficient to support all participants or cover all costs. Hence applicants are encourage to be self-supporting if possible.
