> Plenary Talks

Plenary talks will provide broad overviews over a research area and stimulate discussions on future directions of PAGES science. Plenary talks are 25 minutes long followed by 5 minutes of questions.

> Parallel & Poster Sessions

Sixteen parallel session will highlight latest research results on specific PAGES-relevant themes. Each session will usually have one oral block and a poster block. Each block is of 1.5 hours duration and consists of six 15-minute talks. Two oral sessions will run in parallel.

> Public Lecture

The public lecture is scheduled for the evening of 14 Feb and will be delivered by Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri Director-General of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, India & Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The lecture will take place at the National Institute of Oceanography, and will be followed by a panel discussion with eminent scientists and interactions with the audience. The event will conclude with a “high tea” reception arranged by NCAOR. Free transportation will be provided between the venue and all accommodation sites. The exact timings of the buses will be placed on the noticeboards outside the plenary halls.

> Social Program

The social program includes an icebreaker on 12 Feb, a beach soccer match on 13 Feb and a conference dinner on 15 Feb.

> Field Trips

Participants will have a choice of four exciting field trips commencing on 17 Feb 2013. Of these four trips, three are 1-day trips and one is a 3-day excursion.
