Local Transport

Dabolim (Goa) airport is about 25 km away from the conference venues and official accommodation facilities. For participants staying at the Cidade de Goa, free airport pick-up and drop-off will be arranged by Cidade de Goa. Please provide your arrival and departure itinerary to the hotel reservations or local organizing committee (pages2013@ncaor.org). The organizing committee is also arranging free transport facilities from the airport to the other listed accommodations for OSM/YSM participants on 10 and 12 February. Participants are therefore requested to provide their itineraries to the local organizing committee. Participants arriving on other dates, or at inconvenient hours, are advised to approach the PREPAID TAXI counters just outside the arrival hall of Dabolim Airport. These taxi counters will charge you government approved rates to your destination. Note that this is a prepaid system, safe, and you do not have to pay any extra amount after you reach your destination. Please avoid taking cabs from outside the airport since they may charge more and are less reliable.

Free transportation will be arranged on all conference days between the hotels and guest houses at 8.30 in the morning and immediately after the evening session, except on days when there is an event following the sessions. Any emergency requirements should be reported to the Transport Desk, which will be in operation during the conference days, situated outside the plenary hall.

Participants staying at other places must organize their own transport to the venue. As the venue is off the main roads it is not well-connected by public transport and you may have to arrange for a taxi.

Participants who would like to travel around Goa may ask their respective hotels to arrange for transportation. Transportation for all official field trips will be organized by the local organizing committee.

Free airport drops from the designated conference venues will be arranged on 17 and 18 February, if your departure details are made available to the Transport Desk.
