Visa Information

Who needs a visa?

All visitors, except citizens of Nepal and Bhutan, need a visa for India. You must obtain this before arriving in India.

What visa should I apply for?

Unless you have extensive travel plans in India, you should apply for a Conference Visa. This is a single entry visa that is valid for three months (Note: the visa is valid from the date of issue and not from the date when you enter India).

What documents will I need?

For a Conference Visa you need an invitation letter from the conference hosts - National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR). In some cases you will also require other documents, such as Event Clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Administrative Approval from the Nodal Ministry, Political Clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), or Clearance from the concerned State Government.

Contact Thamban Meloth (pages2013@ncaor.org AND pages2013@gmail.com) by email with the subject "Visa PAGES 2013" for the invitation.

Your passport must be valid for more than six months and must have at least two blank pages.

For a full list of documents, contact the Indian Mission website of your country of origin.
